Vokera Boiler Service: What It Covers and Who Can Do It

A Vokera boiler needs the same annual service as any gas boiler, done by a Gas Safe registered engineer to Vokera's instructions for your model. Here is what the service covers, how it relates to the warranty and what to tell the engineer.

A Vokera boiler service is the same annual safety and maintenance check any gas boiler needs, carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer who follows Vokera's own servicing instructions for your model. You do not need to use Vokera or an engineer from the manufacturer. You do need to know which model you have, keep the service record up to date, and check your warranty paperwork for what it asks of you, because Vokera's published warranty lengths vary by model.

Who Can Service a Vokera Boiler?

Any Gas Safe registered engineer whose registration covers domestic gas boilers can legally service a Vokera boiler. There is no legal requirement to use the manufacturer's own engineers.

What matters is that the engineer works to the manufacturer's service instructions for the specific model, records the visit properly and uses the right parts if something needs replacing. An independent engineer who services boilers every day will know how to find those instructions. If your warranty documents name a particular type of engineer, follow them, but that is a contract question rather than a legal one. Our article on whether a boiler has to be serviced by the manufacturer explains the difference in more detail.

Which Vokera Boiler Do You Have?

Look at the front of the boiler and at the data badge behind the lower cover. The model name and serial number there tell the engineer which service instructions and parts apply.

Vokera now trades as Vokera by Riello, and you may see it written Vokèra. The current range includes the Pinnacle, Synergy, Vibe MAX and Easi-Heat, but many London homes have older Vokera boilers from earlier ranges that are no longer sold. That is not a problem for servicing. It does help to pass the exact model and rough age on when you book, ideally with a photo of the front of the boiler and the data badge, so the engineer knows what to expect and can check parts availability before arriving rather than after.

What a Vokera Boiler Service Covers

The core of the service is the same as on any modern condensing boiler: check that it burns gas safely, gets rid of its waste gases properly and shuts itself down if something goes wrong.

  • Visual checks of the boiler, pipework, flue route and surrounding area for leaks, corrosion, scorching or signs of overheating.
  • Burner and heat exchanger inspected and cleaned where the manufacturer's instructions call for it. The Pinnacle, for example, uses a stainless steel heat exchanger, and the engineer follows Vokera's guidance for that design.
  • Combustion analysis with a flue gas analyser, read against the figures Vokera publishes for the model.
  • Gas pressure and gas rate checked, along with a tightness test on the installation pipework.
  • Condensate trap and pipe checked and cleaned, so acidic condensate drains away and the boiler does not lock out.
  • Safety devices such as flame supervision, overheat protection and the pressure relief valve tested.
  • System pressure and expansion vessel checked, and the controls run through to confirm heating and hot water both work.

At the end you should get a written record of what was checked, the readings taken and anything that needs attention. A good record also notes any advice the engineer gave, so you can see what to watch before the next visit.

Does Servicing Affect a Vokera Warranty?

Vokera publishes warranties from five up to twelve years depending on the model. We could not verify on a Vokera-owned page whether annual servicing is a strict condition of that warranty, so check your own warranty document or ask Vokera directly rather than assume either way.

In practice, most boiler manufacturers do make an unbroken annual service record a condition of their warranty, and a gap in the record gives a manufacturer grounds to question a claim. Even where it turns out not to be a strict condition, a complete service history is the first thing anyone will ask for if the boiler develops a fault inside the warranty period. The safe approach is to service the boiler every year, keep each record, and make sure the service section of the Benchmark checklist that came with the boiler is filled in. Our guide on how annual servicing protects your boiler warranty covers how manufacturers usually treat missed services.

Vokera's New Ownership and What It Changes

For you as the owner, very little changes. Ariston Group completed its purchase of the Riello business, which includes Vokera, from Carrier on 1 July 2026, so Vokera now sits alongside Ariston and ATAG.

That mainly affects parts and technical support routes behind the scenes. It does not change how a Vokera boiler is serviced, what an engineer checks, or who is allowed to do the work. If you registered your boiler for a warranty before the change, keep your paperwork and registration details somewhere safe in case you need to make a claim.

When a Service Is the Wrong Visit

If your Vokera boiler has stopped working, is showing a fault code, or keeps losing pressure, book a repair rather than a service. A service is maintenance on a boiler that is working.

An engineer on a service visit will report anything they find, and small adjustments are part of the job, but replacing a failed part is repair work that is quoted separately. Describing the fault when you book, including the code on the display, means the right engineer comes with the right expectations and the visit is not wasted.

Booking a Vokera Boiler Service

When you book, give the model name, rough age and where the boiler is fitted, plus the date of the last service if you have it. Say if you also need a landlord gas safety certificate, as both can usually be done on one visit.

We service Vokera boilers alongside every other major make. You can see what each manufacturer's guarantee asks of you on our boiler brands we service page, or send us your boiler details to book.

Frequently asked questions

1

Does a Vokera boiler have to be serviced by Vokera?

No. Any Gas Safe registered engineer qualified for domestic gas boilers can legally service it, as long as they follow Vokera's service instructions for the model. Check your warranty document in case it names a particular type of engineer.

2

How often should a Vokera boiler be serviced?

Once a year, like any gas boiler. Keep each service record and make sure the service section of the Benchmark checklist is filled in, as a complete history is the first thing asked for if you need to claim on the warranty.

3

Is annual servicing a condition of the Vokera warranty?

Vokera's warranty lengths vary by model, from five to twelve years. We could not confirm on a Vokera-owned page whether annual servicing is a strict condition, so check your warranty paperwork or ask Vokera, and service yearly either way.
